Lee Roy Selmon blends the merits of football scholarship in his home with community service. First of all, he was born with Lucious Semon and his wife Jessie on an agricultural property near Eufala within Oklahoma as one of their nine children. Two football. He was one of three brothers who were players for Oklahoma. All three were All-Americans. They made the All-America team in 1973. Lee Roy and Lucious Jr. Dewey were the starters for one year. Lee Roy was named the top offensive lineman in United States by Outland and Lombardi Awards. He won two championships and 31-1-1 during his three years as Oklahoma's main man. In 1975, he received his third scholarship and was named an National Football Foundation scholar-athlete. Selmon earned his diploma in education. Lee Roy was involved in voluntary work for 10 hours a week throughout his college years. Following college, he moved to Tampa played nine years with the Buccaneers were the all-pro 3 times, and began his business career. In 1988, he was an Account Relations officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also involved with these groups: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982 the Junior Chamber of Commerce recognized him as one of 10 of the most notable young males. Lee Roy, a 6-2-inch taller and weighing more than 256 pounds when he played in the college level as a player, captained his team throughout 1975. In 1993, he was named assistant director of the University of South Florida. He was named to the College Football Hall of Fame by The GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame of 1994 as well as by The Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation awarded their Distinguished American Award, to Mr. Lucious Selmon and his wife. Henry Bellmon the Governor of Oklahoma was the person who presented the award.
